A Tour of the Clinic

The reception area has a warm, richly colorful Tuscany theme.

We hope you and your pet feel welcomed and at ease when you walk into the front office and hear the soothing flow of water in the fountain, enjoy the artwork throughout the hospital under the calming effect of special lighting, and the extra attention to detail in the Italy-inspired elegance of our reception area.

The in-house laboratory area

There is a little more "clinical" look to the rest of the hospital, but in every way possible, we have tried to integrate a balance of practicality for a hospital setting with love, caring and comforts of home for your pet.

The pharmacy / Outpatient nurse area.

We have an extensive selection of medications, pet products and prescription foods to meet your pets special needs.

Above left is the "grooming" area, where there is a raised tub, cages and table.  (We do not have a groomer on our staff, but on occasion we will bathe a pet when medically necessary , so this area comes in very handy).  The middle photo above is the cat condo room, which can be seen from the outside of the clinic out front.  The above photo to the right is the dog ward, where there are large dog runs, bank of cages, and supplies.

At left is the surgery room.  Here you will find the anesthetic machines, monitors, laser, I.V. poles, surgery table and special lighting.  It is stocked and prepared for all types of surgery, treatments and emergencies.

In the next photo is the x-ray table.  The table, x-ray equipment and developer is located in a special darkroom just off the inpatient ward.   All of the safety equipment that is used while taking x-rays is also kept in this room.

The third photo shows our inpatient area, where your pet is taken when admitted into the hospital for a procedure or surgery.  This area has a large bank of cages in a glass-walled room.  This is the recovery area where pets are closely monitored while waking from anesthetic.  There is also a special isolation ward set off to one side of this area.

To get a little closer look, this last photo is one of three treatment tables where a wide range of procedures are performed throughout the day, from dental cleanings, bandage changes, minor treatments & surgeries and more.  All the tables and adjacent counters and cabinets are well stocked, there are special cabinets for trauma and emergencies, there is a large area for blankets, towels and other comforts to keep your pet feeling cozy as possible during his/her stay.  As with the entire hospital, this area is constantly being sanitized and disinfected.

Governor Animal Clinic is in a state of preparedness in the event of a rolling blackout.  Our phone and computer systems are programmed with emergency backup systems.  We have emergency lighting in surgery, the treatment areas, and at all work stations, and will function at near-normal capacity should our supply of electricity be compromised for any specific period of time.  Our anesthetic machines are not powered by electricity, so an anesthetized pet would not be in danger if a blackout was to occur.  We have made every attempt to ensure your trust in us is well earned.
