Slab fracture of  fourth premolar

The Governor Animal Clinic is ready to assist all of our clients needs.

During February we offer a 10% discount for our patients dental work.   This includes all services associated with your pets teeth cleaning; pre-anesthetic labwork, anesthesia, dental x-rays, cleaning and polishing all teeth, extractions, antibiotics and pain medications. Also included with your pets dental is a complimentary post-dental technician exam (by appointment),a follow up to address healing from any extractions, brushing techniques and answer any questions you may have.

Dental procedures involve having your pet receive a physical exam by one of our 7 doctors.   Most pets, then, require a few diagnostic tests to be done before anesthesia.  This helps to confirm that your pet is in good health to be anesthetized.

The Governor Animal Clinic team take extra precautions with anesthetic cases by placing intra-venous catheters, tracking each pets vital signs with monitoring equipment and using the safest anesthetic drugs available.  During the entire anesthetic procedure there is a Registered Veterinary Technician and an assistant trained in anesthetic monitoring with your pet.

After the teeth are scaled clean and polished they are then probed to record gingival pocket depth, just like for people.   Full mouth x-rays may be taken to identify any subgingival problems, such as cavities, abscesses, fractured teeth and periodontal disease.  The veterinarian in charge of the case will then decide what oral problems should be addressed to help with the pets overall health.  Extractions are performed as needed, by an experienced, trained, licensed technician.  Nerve blocks are given and pain medication is administered for your pet‘s comfort during recovery.

We can also microchip your pet during the dental procedure, which will also be discounted 10%.  Once the dental is complete your pet is brought to the recovery ward and is monitored by the in-patient personnel.  The owner is then notified of the pets status and given a pick up time.  At discharge an in-patient technician will discuss after care instructions and medications to go home.  You will also be sent home with a complimentary dental product of your choice, such as a brush, paste, rinse or CET chews.  Our entire line of C.E.T. products will be 30% off during the month of February!
